3BL Season 2 Champion ‘Gurugram 3BL’ team in France for FIBA 3×3 World Tour Challenger Events

3BL Season 2 Champion ‘Gurugram 3BL’ team comprising Indian origin stars Bikramjit Gill, Inderbir Singh Gill, Kiran Shastri alongside Steven Wesley has reached France for two FIBA 3×3 World Tour Challenger events.

In the national 3BL league, the ‘Gurugram 3BL’ team is known as ‘Gurugram Masters’ and is owned by Mr Vikas Bansal and Mr Rajeev Tiwari.

The first Challenger event will be in Poitiers on 2-3 July followed by another event in Cergy on 10- 11 July.

The team will tip off its campaign tonight (2nd July) against Poitiers at 7:50pm IST followed by Raudondvaris Tauras at 8:40 pm.

The entire FIBA 3×3 Poitiers Challenger 2021 event will be Live Streamed on the FIBA 3×3 Youtube Channel here.

3×3 Pro Basketball League (3BL) is India’s first and only professional basketball league in the shorter 3×3 format, that has exclusive rights from the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and the National Federation (BFI).

Two Seasons of 3BL have been successfully conducted so far, and the dates for the upcoming Season 3 will be announced keeping in mind COVID related health & safety protocols.

Delhi/France, 2nd July 2021: 3BL Season 2’s Champion team from Gurugram has reached France for the FIBA 3×3 World Tour Challenger event.

The two-day Challenger event will be taking place in Poitiers, Vienne, on 2nd and 3rd July, with games starting from 7pm IST on day one.

Branded ‘Gurugram 3BL’, the team comprises Indian origin stars Bikramjit Gill, Inderbir Singh Gill, Kiran Shastri alongside Steven Wesley. While Bikramjit Gill is from Canada, Inderbir  Singh Gill, Kiran Shastri and Steven Wesley are from the United States. 

The team will tip off its campaign tonight (2nd July) against hosts Poitiers at 7:50pm IST
followed by Raudondvaris Tauras at 8:40 pm.

About Gurugram Masters

In the national 3BL league, the Gurugram team is known as ‘Gurugram Masters’ and it won the title in Season 2. The team is owned by Mr Vikas Bansal and Mr Rajeev Tiwari. The Gurugram Masters team secured the Qualifying Draw in the 2021 FIBA 3×3 World Tour Challengers events by virtue of being the Champion team in 3BL Season 2, as well as the combined ranking points of its individual team members.

About the FIBA 3×3 Poitiers Challenger 2021

Sixteen teams are registered in the Main Draw, divided into four Pools of four teams each.

Additionally there are other six teams in two Qualifying Draws, which includes ‘Gurugram 3BL’. The 13th seeded Gurugram 3BL team is in Qualifying Draw A, alongside Raudondvaris Tauras and hosts Poitiers. 

Only the top team from each Qualifying Draw will proceed to the Main Draw. So Gurugram 3BL will be keen to win both its games against Raudondvaris and Poitiers.

Friday, 2nd July will witness all the Pool round games, while Saturday, 3rd July will see all the knockout games starting from the Quarterfinals and culminating in the Finals.

The top 2 teams from the Poitiers Challenger will qualify for a FIBA 3×3 World Tour Masters, to be announced at a later stage.
