About Road to Mexico (Challenger)
Date: 16th & 17th September, 2017
Venue: Ambience Mall, Gurugram, Haryana.
Thanks to the man in-charge, Mr. Rohit Bakshi – 3BL Commissioner, 3×3 made its official arrival in to the country with a special showcase event called the 3×3 Road To Mexico Challenger. This challenger featured 12 top teams from India, Japan, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and Maldives and also featured marquee national basketball stars like Amjyot Singh, Vishesh Bhriguvanshi, Satnam Singh, TJ Sahi and Palpreet Singh Brar to name a few.
The Game
The finals saw Hamamatsu win an exciting back-and-forth battle against another Japanese squad, Yokohama, 20-19 on the back of strong efforts by Inderbir Singh Gill, Palpreet Singh Brar, Kiran Shastri and Bikramjit Gill. As winners, they were awarded a cash prize of INR 4,00,000/- and an all-expenses-paid trip to participate at the FIBA 3×3 World Tour: Mexico Masters on 30th September & 1st October, 2017.
Day 2 also witnessed the final round of the Dunk Contest which was won by Ukraine’s Dmitry ‘Smoove’ Krivenko.
